Residents at Lavender Court marked National Garden Week with a peaceful trip out to enjoy a walk around the beautiful boating lake.
The day gave residents the chance to spend time in the fresh air, take in the spring colour and enjoy the calm surroundings together. Along the way, they stopped to admire the many flowers in bloom and also had a chat with the gardeners who help keep the area looking so lovely.
The photographs capture the beauty of the outing, from Cecily seated in front of a striking palm tree to another image of Cecily and Dave enjoying time together by the lake. Mo was also pictured taking a closer look at the flowers, while other images show a delicate white lily, a rowing boat filled with red and orange flowers, and wider views of the well-kept gardens and benches.
Trips like this offer much more than a change of scene. Gentle exercise, fresh air and meaningful conversation can all support wellbeing, while being out in nature often brings a sense of calm and connection. For residents, these shared moments outdoors can be both relaxing and uplifting.
Reflecting on the outing, Cecily said that being “out and about is good for the soul.” It is a simple thought, but one that sums up the day beautifully. At Lavender Court, National Garden Week was a lovely reminder of how much enjoyment can be found in a walk, a chat and beautiful surroundings.
