Sometimes the simplest outings bring the most happiness, and that was certainly the case at Lavender Court when Thelma enjoyed a gentle walk with a member of staff and a proper Cornish pasty in hand.
A very Cornish lady, Thelma was taken out for some fresh air and good company, with the pair finding a lovely bench overlooking the beach. There, she was able to sit quietly, enjoy her pasty and take in the seaside view as the world went by. The photographs show Thelma relaxing on the bench with her lunch, as well as the beautiful view stretching out in front of her.
The walk also included some very welcome canine encounters. Anyone who knows Thelma will know how much she enjoys saying hello to dogs, and this outing was no exception. Along the way, she stopped to meet two particularly friendly companions, with photos capturing her stroking a Great Pyrenees and greeting a long-haired German Shepherd with clear delight.
Moments like this are a lovely example of person-centred care in action. Taking time to focus on the things that matter to an individual, whether that is fresh air, a favourite food, a seaside view or meeting dogs along the way, can make a real difference to wellbeing and enjoyment.
At Lavender Court, it is often these thoughtful, everyday moments that bring the biggest smiles.
